Community Access' 8th Annual NYC Film Festival
On May 5, 2012, the Isora Foundation funded a grant to help sponsor Community Access' 8th Annual NYC Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. The goal of the film festival is to raise public awareness about issues facing the mental health community.This year's theme was "Crisis Intervention - Interacting with Police".
Community Access, partnering with the NY Association of Psychiatric Rehab. Services, reached out to community boards and police precincts in Brooklyn inviting them to attend the public event in hopes of creating a positive dialogue between the communities. Seven thought provoking films were screened. The event concluded with a Q & A session involving panel of filmmakers, Steve Coe, CEO of Community Access and community advocates.
